Privacy Policy for Linkfluencr Chrome Extension
Last Updated: October 2025
Overview
The Linkfluencr Chrome Extension helps you schedule and publish LinkedIn posts directly from your Linkfluencr dashboard. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it's used.
What Data We Access
LinkedIn Content
- Post text and media that you choose to publish or schedule through our extension
- Purpose: To fill LinkedIn's composer with your content
- Storage: Temporarily cached in browser memory during the posting process, then cleared
Authentication Token
- Your Linkfluencr authentication token to connect your account
- Purpose: To sync your drafts and scheduled posts between the dashboard and extension
- Storage: Stored locally in Chrome's secure storage (never transmitted to third parties)
Media Files
- Images, videos, and documents you've uploaded to your Linkfluencr account
- Purpose: To attach media to your LinkedIn posts
- Storage: Fetched from our DigitalOcean storage as needed
What We DO NOT Do
- No data harvesting: We don't collect your LinkedIn browsing history, connections, or any data beyond what you explicitly choose to post
- No data selling: We never sell or share your data with third parties
- No tracking: We don't track your activity on LinkedIn or other websites
- No storage of LinkedIn credentials: We never access or store your LinkedIn password
How Data Flows
- You create a post in your Linkfluencr dashboard
- When you click "Publish" or "Schedule" in the extension, it:
- Opens LinkedIn's native posting interface
- Fills in your content and media
- You review and confirm the post
- All posting happens through LinkedIn's official interface - you maintain full control
WebSocket Connection
The extension maintains a secure WebSocket connection to app.linkfluencr.ai
to:
- Receive real-time updates about your drafts
- Sync scheduled post times
- This connection is encrypted (WSS protocol) and authenticated with your token
Third-Party Services
The extension connects to:
- LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com): Where your posts are published
- Linkfluencr servers (app.linkfluencr.ai): Your dashboard backend
- DigitalOcean Spaces: Where your media files are stored
We only access domains necessary for the extension to function.
Your Control
You can:
- Disconnect the extension at any time from the Settings tab
- Review and edit every post before it goes live on LinkedIn
- Remove the extension from Chrome, which deletes all locally stored data
Data Security
- Authentication tokens are stored in Chrome's secure local storage
- WebSocket connections use TLS encryption
- Media files are fetched over HTTPS only
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through extension updates.
